Top 5 Spring Nail Polishes

It is finally time to welcome back the pastels, oh how I've missed you. I thought I would share with you five nail polishes which I think are perfect for spring time.

Maybelline Forever Strong Professional Nail Polish in the shade Nude Rose (135) is a beautiful colour and really is long lasting. This is my go to nail varnish, it's a lovely dusky pink colour and look great with anything. It does need a couple of coats to build up a good colour but once your there it looks lovely.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in the shade Ethereal (210). This colour is a beautiful baby pink with a slight metallic finish. I love the 60 second collection as although the most pastel colours do need more coats and do tend to chip easily they take 60 seconds to dry so putting on another coat isn't an inconvenience. The only thing about this nail varnish is that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who likes a really bold colour.

Barry M Aquarium Nail Paint in the shade Mediterranean (412). I was very impressed with the new Aquarium collection, at first I was a bit hesitant as to whether or not it would have a nice consistency or finish to it but I hadn't of worried. I only had to do two coats and it lasted at least two days without chipping which considering I am always using a keyboard for work I was quite impressed. This particular colour I chose is a pink gold with quite an orange tone to it. The only thing I would say about it is that it doesn't leave a particularly shiny finish.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Rita Ora Nail Polish in the shade Breakfast in Bed (873). I must say I'm not overly impressed with Rita Ora's collection, as for me it doesn't real stand out from any other collection. However, I did pick up this beautiful mint green colour and it really is a winner. It's perfect for spring/summer. It takes a few coats to build up a proper colour but again it takes 60 seconds to dry so you're not waiting around forever.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in the shade Mary Mary Quite Contrary (621). I have realised that 90% of the polishes are Rimmel but you have to admit, when it comes to nail polish they know what they are doing. This colour is a lovely lilac and is actually the first ever lilac I had bought. It takes quite a few coats but looks lovely and lasts for a good few days atleast. Again not one for people who like quite a bold colour.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Do you have any nail polishes that you think are perfect for spring?

My Weekend in Pictures

On Friday Lucy and I got an early train down to London for a day of shopping followed by an evening watching McBusted perform at the O2 Arena.

Just looking at this is making me crave it all over again...soo good!

This is just about the only 'touristy' photo I got as it was super busy in London and for the best part of the day it was raining and miserable.

Quick OOTD: Leather Jacket ~ H&M
Black Tshirt ~ H&M
Polka Dot Skirt ~ H&M
Leather Backpack ~ New Look

I FINALLY GOT TO TASTE BUBBLE TEA (although mine was more of a slush/smoothie) regardless it tasted uh-mazing!!

I forgot to take an actual camera to the concert so unfortunately these are the best pictures I have. I was far to busy enjoying the concert to even think about taking photos though!

On Saturday I was suffering from post concert depression/extreme fatigue. I went to the cinema with my family but other than that I pretty much stayed at home and regained my energy (I obviously can't cope with long days/late nights). We decided to watch Noah and if I'm honest I think we all left a little disappointed with the film however all the actors/actresses did play their parts brilliantly!

Sunday was a day for writing blog posts, cuddling my lovely puppies and staying in bed on Sims.

I hope you all had lovely weekends!

Book Review: Running Like a Girl

I wasn't sure I would ever be one to write book reviews but here I am so that must mean I have found a really impressive book to share with you all. So here goes:

If you would of told me in February that I would be training to run 5k and reading non stop about running I would have laughed at you however two months later here I am. My lovely Mother recently bought me a book called 'Running Like a Girl' by Alexandra Heminsley. It is one of the most inspirational books I have ever read and even if you don't want to run it's just a genuine feel good book. Within the first evening of receiving this book I was already half way through it and had it not of been 10pm in the evening I probably would of gone for a run!

Alexandra is a journalist, author, runner and one of the most inspiring women I have read about to date. She tells people about the highs and the lows of running from tears of pain to buying your first proper sports bra. I feel like I have learnt a lot about running through her and she has inspired me to get through my first race and to carry on doing more and challenging myself as much as I can.

This book is one of the most inspiring, feel good books I have ever read and I would recommend it to anyone!

Leather Lovin'

I recently decided to take the plunge and buy a leather jacket. I had one when I was about fourteen and wore it to death so it was definitely time to get a new one. I am loving H&M at the moment, the quality is amazing and with affordable prices you really get your money's worth!

I found this leather jacket and for £29.99 how could I refuse?! Leather jackets have the power to instantly make any outfit look better. I have only had it for about two weeks and I have already got so much use from it. I can wear it to work or at the weekend when I'm opting for a slightly more casual look.

I don't agree with wearing real leather, fur etc so the fact that it's not real leather is obviously a bonus for me. The quality is amazing and the jacket itself really does look more expensive than it is. Not only is the jacket comfy but it's also practical with small pockets which is definitely a bonus.

A jacket that instantly makes any outfit look better and you wear it come rain or shine is definitely a winner for me!

Do you have any staple wardrobe items?

Everyday Essentials: Beauty Edition

When it comes to beauty products I am very loyal, I will find something I love and stick with it through thick and thin (or until it stops being sold). I thought I would share with you my favourite beauty items that I use on a daily basis. Note: this doesn't contain any make up as such as I am still on the hunt for a product that will really wow me!

Nivea Soft Face, Body and Hands Moisturiser
I first bought this moisturiser at an airport after I realised I'd stupidly forgotten mine, little did I know it would turn out to be the most impressive moisturiser I had bought to date. I use it twice a day on my face and neck. It smells fresh and your skin absorbs it straight away which means no waiting around desperately fanning yourself in order for it to dry.

It retails for about £2 to £3 at most drugstores which I think is fair priced for the quality and amount you get. When it comes to moisturiser it is all about trial and error, everyone has different skin and you just have to find out what works best for you. I would definitely recommend giving this moisturiser a try whether you use it for your face, hands or body.

Soap & Glory Hand Food Mini and Soap & Glory Hand Maid Mini
These two literally go hand in hand (pardon the pun). Not only do they look and smell divine they also make your hands feel clean and so soft. Retailing for only £2.50 each they are affordable and perfect for light travel! I keep both of these in my handbag at all times and they have and continue to fulfil my need for soft, clean hands.

A girls best friend! How anyone can live without a tangle teezer is beyond me...this brush is my holy grail. I literally can't live without it. I have very thick wavy hair and this is the ONLY brush that will go through my hair without breaking! This particular brush was limited edition from topshop and I believe it was around £13.00, however you can get them from most high street drug stores.
This product works for all hair types and not only does it look pretty but it is also super practical, coming with a cover so you can take it on your travels and the brush won't get damaged in your bag.

Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balm
My sister bought me my first lip balm for my birthday last year and I have been obsessed ever since, getting another five for Christmas! I always have one of these on me, one in my make up bag, one in my jacket pocket, one in my bag...always. They are very absorbent which is a big thing for me as I hate lip balms that feel as is they just sit on your lips and don't actually do anything. There are five different fruity flavours available and for only £2.00 they last FOREVER. All of the flavours smell amazing and a few of them are slightly tinted. My favourite at the moment is definitely the grape one.

I hope you enjoyed finding out about my must have products! Do you have any products that you rely on daily?

#hedwigselfie

It took Lucy and I a good five minutes to figure out whether or not these owls were real...

A HUGE thank you to the studio tour for inviting me I felt so privileged to be a part of it! It was lovely to talk to some other Harry Potter fans and experience the magic for the fourth time. I would recommend the studios to anyone whether you have an interest in media or Harry Potter. It is so much fun and I can't wait to visit again! Before booking tickets however it is definitely worth looking on their website to check out any events they might have on!
