Real Techniques ~ Bold Metals

Jumping on the bandwagon a bit late, I know! However, I couldn't let a product like this go by without having my say.

I have always been a HUGE Real Techniques fan and always been willing to invest in the brushes. As a training makeup artist I have the daily struggle of cheap brushes falling apart on me and wrestling with shampoo in order to keep them clean, so I know how important it is to have a decent set of brushes.

When the new set of Bold Metals were released I thought I'd wait to read some other reviews before investing in the brushes myself. The collection is more expensive that the original brushes, with the cheapest brush starting at £10.00 and the most expensive being £25.00 but it is COMPLETELY worth it!

Yet again, Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo have impressed everyone with their ability to create an incredible range of brushes...well worth the price!

As of this moment, I only have the foundation and the eyeliner brush but after trying them for a good few weeks I will 110% be investing in the rest of the collection.

The overall feel and design of the brush is beautiful, coming in elegant silver, rose gold and gold metal, it really is a must have for any makeup bag! Unlike the original brushes these brushes are more of a triangle shape instead of the iconic round brushes. In my opinion this makes them a lot easier to control and more comfortable to hold.

The eyeliner brush which also happens to be perfect for eyebrows is super small meaning its a whole lot easier to get a precise shape/line. The foundation brush is more of a 3D triangle, instead of the typical flat pointed brush. I have never been one for foundation brushes but after seeing this new shape I decided to take the plunge and am glad I did. It blends really well and is yet to leave any streaky marks on my face.

Both are of a high quality and are very easy to wash. I am super happy I decided to get myself some of the new brushes and can't wait to get the rest!

Have you got any of the new Bold Metals collection? What do you think?

Limited Edition Mac Cinderella Palette

Where do I start? Well, I was lucky enough to grab one of the Mac Cinderella palettes before they all sold out and I'm so glad I did! It's made up of six colours, five permanent and one limited edition specifically for the collection.

The palette was £38.50 which considering you are paying for the brand and the collection is not bad for six eye shadows. The colours are absolutely beautiful and the pigmentation is amazing. I wasn't too sure what to expect as the only shadows I'd had from Mac, weren't great, However, I got everything I could of wished for and more. It truly is a beautiful collection, high five to Mac...and Disney!

Here are some makeup looks I have created using 'Phloof', 'Satin Taupe' and 'Stroke of Midnight'. I am yet to create something with the other colours! I have however, been using 'Phloof' and 'Omega' daily for my eyebrows and highlighter.

Did any of  you manage to grab the palette before it sold out? What do you think?
